Competency-led application support for National Engineering Register listing

Free consultation

The National Engineering Register is Engineers Australia's public register for engineers who meet the expected standards of qualification, skill, professionalism, and independent practice. We help engineers present their experience in a way that is clearer, stronger, and better aligned with the five NER competencies. Our support covers competency writing, expanded CV preparation, and CPD structuring so your submission feels more credible and more assessor-ready.

Engineers seeking registration on the National Engineering Register who have at least five years of relevant engineering experience (with at least four post-graduate years within the last 10 years). Open to professional engineers, engineering technologists, and engineering associates — including non-members of Engineers Australia.

2. Engineers Australia Members

Guideline alignment

Prepared with reference to Engineers Australia's NER competency framework (five competencies, subset of the broader 16-element independent-practice framework). At application stage, there is no minimum CPD hour requirement — CPD must be appropriate and adequate. The 150 hours over three years rule applies to maintaining NER after approval.
